The Anasazi

The name Anasazi means "ancient ones."
The Anasazi people were an ancient civilization who lived in the American Southwest about 1000 years ago.

They lived primarily in what are now the states of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Arizona in an area known as "the Four Corners."

Although the Anasazi tribe does not exist today, it is believed that their descendants may include current Native American tribes such as the Hopi, Zuni, and Pueblo.
