The Mohawk Language

Mohawk is an Iroquoian language of the Northeast Woodlands.

Today there are about 3,000 fluent speakers of "Kanienkehaka" - the Mohawk language. Half of these speakers live in Canada and half live in New York state.

You can learn to speak the Mohawk language, too.
What animals do you see? These animals of the Northeast
are identified by their "Kanienkehaka" names.
